Duna Arena is much more than a competition pool, by this development the greatest aquatics centre of Hungary will be established providing sporting and entertainment facilities for thousands of people after the Championships, also. The facility will serve as a training pool for kids and will function as headquarters for training for the national swimming and water polo community. In addition, the facility will host dozens of national and international events.

A jewel in the crown of Budapest

Danube Arena is comprised of two facilities: a main building with a capacity of hosting 6000 persons and a temporary facility designated for the 2017 FINA World Championships with temporary grandstands and service units.

More than a competition pool

Danube Arena

It is important to note that constructions have been delivered in line with environmentally conscious and sustainable considerations, the majority temporary elements will be used at other venues after the event.

The fundamental purpose when designing the facility was to ensure that the facility in legacy mode would meet the requirements of the Hungarian Swimming, Water Polo, Synchronised Swimming and Diving Federations.

After the World Championships

In addition to its temporary purpose Duna Arena will offer great opportunities for the public to do aquatic sport and engage in recreational activities (water gymnastics, water aerobics, etc.).

Under renovation

Dagály Beach

Another goal in addition to providing the services detailed above Duna Arena is intended to become an integral part of the daily operations of Dagály Beach thus guests of the Beach and the Swimming Complex could use both facilities jointly.
